Cause, Lewis C. Hardee, Jr. and Estelle S. Wright, met with Haggie, along with Loris Mayor David Stoudenmire, Jr. and council members Shirley Craigie and Thessalonia Graham inside the commu- nity room at Watson ParL They reviewed the work that has already been done and discussed the work still to do to before reopening the center. The greatest improve- ment to the center, as the group noted by being inside, was the work done on the air conditioning and heating system. During the recent City Hall renova- tions, the city installed new energy-efficient HVAC units, which has drastically cut the city's utility costs. The city had the used units refurbished and along with new ductwork, installed them at the cen- ter. City to improve park Haggle also had ceiling repair done and replaced a door which was taken from another city building under repair. The committee discussed other repair and improve- ments to the center, such as updating the kitchen area with either donated or used appliances, floor tile replacement and cleaning, overall painting and insula- tion around doors and win- dows to improve energy efficiency. Haggie added the replacement or repair of two exterior doors, new panic hardware, and locks were needed to ensure security at the center. The committee agreed to all needed repairs and also discussed the need of vol- unteers to help with the painting and sprucing up the center inside and out. The city asked if anyone would like to donate appli- ances, such as a microwave, refrigerator, and kitchen related items, to please contact the city. I BIRTHS I Chameka L.
